Changes to Medicare Effective 2008

Must be a Texas Resident.
•
If 65 or older – must have Part A
and is within the six months following their enrollment
in Part B.
•
If under age 65 – must have Part A
and within 6 months following their enrollment for Part
B. Remember that some plans may not be available for you
until you have reached 65.
•
Turning age 65 – Must be enrolled
in Part A and B – plans are guaranteed if applied for in
the 6 months timeframe. You have 3 months before turning
65 and three months after turning 65 to apply for a
Medicare Supplement policy – you will not be turned down
due to medical conditions.
•
If currently under COBRA, employer, or
retiree group health plan and cancelled due to:

No longer be to covered under terms
of the plan.
∙
Voluntarily left the plan.
∙
Your company cancelled the plan in
its entirety.
∙
COBRA coverage has ended.
Remember you must apply for the
Medicare Supplement plan within the 63rd day after
coverage was terminated to be guaranteed acceptance into
a Medicare Supplemental policy.

Medicare will still cover 80% of
eligible medical service and you will be responsible for
the remaining 20%.
Purchasing a Medicare Supplement may
cover the Part A and B deductibles as well as pay the
20% of eligible medical expenses that Medicare DOES
NOT pay. |
